PowerPoint audio plays correctly in Windows XP, not in Windows 2000

Hello,

I created a PowerPoint slide show in Windows XP using PowerPoint
2002,
but will be presenting it to my audience on a Windows 2000 computer.
I
have embedded each of my 6 wmv videos using Insert > Object > Create
from file as per the recommendations from the msmvps.com/blogs
"Embedding Video" web site article. Both the video and sound now
play
beautifully on the Windows XP machine.

However, when I run the PowerPoint presentation on the Windows 2000
computer with external speakers, the video plays perfectly, but the
audio sounds like the narrator sucked
down some helium before reading the script ... you know, that high-
pitched, freaky sort of sound, like what you hear when a tape
recording is speeded up too fast. Is there some setting in Windows
2000 that I need to change to return the video's audio portion to it's
perfect sound as it was in Windows XP?

Thanks for any advice.
