Did your problems begin with installation of MSIE7? You can try Roxio

Hi group:

I have a NEC ND-3450A DVD +-RW E drive that I used to be able to burn
files to a CD-R disk, but it stopped working. I tried 5 different disks
and still the same result

All recent Firmware has been upgraded. I have had problems because of my
Roxio burn program with the drive disappearing, but this is a first.

I an running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 8400.
