The taskbar is down at its standard minimum width (the vertical height property) and the icons which are double layered are half the size so as to fit. As I have a wide-screen monitor, I have plenty of room for a single layer of standard size icons. I just wish I knew how to fix this!

Use the taskbar Properties to 'unlock the taskbar', and drag anything on top down to the first line, then resize the taskbar, and lock it.
