Can someone else please reply!
My guess is that your O/S (I'm guessing Windows) has been destabilized, and this is causing problems when AntiVirus (and perhaps other) programs have been installed: your AntiVirus programs are not creating a problem; rather, they are misbehaving because of your underlying problem. What you should be doing is finding out what is destabilizing your O/S, and fixing THAT.
(BTW, why disable the Internet connection when you have problems? Just disconnect the cable. This should prevent activation error messages.)
