Thanks Mark. Rt clicking Com. Prompt doesn't give me any options. I ran a
search for command.com and cmd.exe and found nothing. Maybe I'm not
proficient enough to grok what you're saying. Thanks anyhow.

My guess is based on the fact that 95 was actually running the 'old' 6.22.
dos, and autocad needs that. There are several things you might look into. I
would rightclick the shortcut to "Command Prompt, and set some of the
settings in Properties for things like Himem, 640x480, 'compatibility' etc.
I don't know if you could start this autocad from a dos prompt, but running
'command.com' rather than 'cmd.exe' might do something.

Thanks guys. Autodesk won't even acknowledge this antique. Upgrade obvious
but 'old dog-new tricks' scenario. The program will operate fine, but there
must be a reason the cpu registers 99% use by this program. Thanks.

I use Autocad LT-95 Rel.2, worked fine with Win95. With XP-Home-SP2,
my
Athlon 2.2 ghz processor will max and remain at 100%. The program
only
requires a 486 processor and 8 mb ram. I've set Compatability to
Win95,
performed 'clean boot', then opened program, and read hundreds of
threads.
Nada. If anyone has an idea, please think 'old person' when
responding.
What led you to believe that the old version of AutoCAD would function
properly under any NT-based version of Windows? You could try running
it inside of a virtual machine (VMware Server and Virtual PC are both
free) but you would need to buy another license of Windows to run
inside that virtual machine and then install AutoCAD in there.
Otherwise, it is upgrade time for AutoCAD (presuming you have a legit
copy), and assuming there is an upgrade path between that really old
version and the current release
(http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=8446950
lists upgrading to version 2008 only back to version 2005).
