Thanks to Nepatsfan I copied the event viewer errors from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17
which is when the problems occurred. I have no idea what to make of them but
maybe you can. There may be a common denominator to these problems but I'm
not experienced enough to recognize them.
One error message I did get that I didn't include was "The exception unknown
software exception (oxc000000d) ocurred in the application at location
0x6b18a27b. After a thorough search on Google and MS Knowledge Base only
came up with 2 references in Japanese but neither had any solution.
Here are the errors:

DL, I realize this is a big imposition but I'd be grateful for some kind of
solution.

Thanks DL. You're right, if I knew how to copy or save them, I would have.
included the info from Event Viewer. The problems seem to be in The
Application and the System log.
I have no idea how to copy or save them so you could see them. Any
suggestions?
I had Norton Internet Security 2008 installed and one error message was
CCSVHost which is a Norton file. I've since uninstalled it.
Bottom Line: My sense is that the bootup file is corrupted, the cursor
moves very slow, programs open and close very slow and the internet is almost
like dial up. I have 512 K and for a third world country that's a luxury for
about $100.00. If you want 2 MB, you could make a monthly payment on a BMW
for what it costs down here...Over $600.00 a month with my ISP.

I have a custom built Sony Desktop Computer with Windows XP MCE 6 for an
operating system. All MS updates have been installed as of Jan. 18, 2008.
I
inadvertently installed an internet booster program called Artera Turbo
Ver.
3.0 (dated 2003 which I missed since my computer was built in late 2005.
Meaning, when it installed some drivers, it must have corrupted or
replaced
the newer drivers Sony installed.) and it changed some of my drivers. As
of
this moment, my computer is running extremely slow (for a 3 MB Processor
with
2 Gig of Ram and a 320 G hard drive) and appears to be unstable. My Sony
has recovery system software on my hard drive and I've made 2 Recovery
DVD's.
I've spent 2 days trying different fixes including System Restore but to
no
avail.
Does anyone out there know if I can somehow re-install Windows XP MCE
without having to reformat My C: drive? Or if I can find a site to go to
that gives me instructions on how to repair my OS? Clearly, I can back up
my
files (And most are already backed up) but I'm wondering if there's a
relatively uncomplicated solution.
NOTE: I've looked at my Event Viewer and seen the error messages but,
unfortunately I have no idea of what i'm reading or how to fix them.
As an American living in Cali, Colombia, $4.00 a minute calling the US
from
Colombia and also paying for live support from Microsoft or Sony isn't
feasible.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or do I need to provide more
information.
Rebooting my computer takes forever so maybe the problem in part, lies
there. Once I get to my desktop, opening any programs is painfully slow.
I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks in advance
