I suppose the card itself is not defective.
After the system crash I installed a new Windows XP system to another
partition, and it works fine.
The problem is with the "Enhanced Display Driver Helper Service". It is not
the graphics driver itself, but something related to it (as I remember it was
installed during a driver update as an enhancement). Others have also problem
with it:

I unplugged my ASUS card, and replaced with the S3 trio card, but the same
error happens during setup.
Is it possible to remove a device? (e.g. by removing or modifying an inf
file?)

That mean your Video card either defective or need tuning.
Access the BIOS and disable the Service on the Graphic card.

error during the setup (missing component). Do you think I can solve this by
removing the graphic card? (or replacing with another?)

The "hang at 34 minutes" is a well known hardware related issue. When
you install the operating system you should have no external hardware
connected to the computer other than the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Disconnect all other devices such as printers, USB drives, joysticks,
etc and try installing again. If you have no external devices sometimes
removing, moving to different slots or reseating PCI cards cures the
