Re: IE Crashing

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Larry

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No
Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in
a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

I hope someone can assist on this. For the past few days I seem to get
intermittant failures when opening website via IE 6.
I have tried uninstalling the Yahoo Toolbar as I have read this can
sometimes cause probs. But I still get the failures.
Now I don't get any specific msg. But when I click the Send Report
info. link it seems to point to urlmon.dll.
I did a search and found it listed 4x. 2 from 2002 and the other 2
from 2 mos. ago.

It seems to point to a hidden folder w/INet Temp files. Can these
files be deleted safely? Many appear to be coolies.
This is an XP Sp2 pc. I have done scans for spyware and viruses and
come up clean. It seems this happened after last wkes MS updates.
There were a # of them so I can't even point to 1 in particular. Any
assistance is apprec.
TIA
