IE 6 XP Problem

I haven't tried this month's (December) MS updates yet because I noted all the complaints about the one that causes IE 6 problems. But it did prompt me to try IE 6 for the first time since installing last month's updates (I surf with a Mozilla browser). Low and behold, IE 6 could not access any web sites.

Is there something from last month's MS updates that may cause this problem?
