Strange occurrence now.
After booting or re-booting and after desktop appears the program in question, its folder appears without input from me. Shortcut or the data folder will not open the program but I can run the program from the shortcut in all programs or the shortcut in Start. Couldn't even run the program from the C:\Program. Re-installed the program, now boots fine from either location but its folder still appears after computer reboots or cold boots. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.
There was a failed attempt by the program of creating a run command to start it upon Windows startup. You can run MSCONFIG and under the Startup tab, look for any reference to the program. You'll probably find that the command line doesn't place the command line in quotes, or it's just a damaged command line. Disable that line in MSCONFIG and restart to see if that cures the problem. If so, start MSCONFIG again, see where the program is started and remove the command correctly using REGEDIT, or another area of MSCONFIG, if it isn't in the registry.
