Re: 2 Stop Errors

You have not said whether you can boot the computer or not. If you can
how are you able to do this?

I can boot the computer and it happens at random times. Just now I wasn't
even using the computer, but it was on, I came back with the STOP error
0X0000008E.

When are the Stop Error codes occurring? Is it when you boot or later?

Later, see above answer.
Can you post the parameters for each Stop Error message?

STOP 0X00000024 (0X001902FE, 0XB6A1C060, 0XB6A1BD5C, 0XF7B7A64A
NTFS,sys - Address F7B&A64A base at F7B52000, Date Stamp 4614FBF1

STOP 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0X805509E9, 0XB5BABBAC, 0X00000000)

I have unplugged a couple of my USB perfs just to see what would happen and
I still got the 0X0000008E error

Have you made any recent hardware changes? How many RAM sticks make up
your installed memory?

My computer's HD was reformatted and I have 2G RAM

Have you backed up important data files? This needs to be done before
you start trying to fix the problem. Do you have access to a second
computer where you might be able to install the drive from the problem
computer as a second slave drive?

I have backed up some data files, I have a 2nd HD and an External. I do
have a lap top but I cannot slave it.

What is the computer make and model?

It was built for me a long time ago and I made the upgrades myself.

What precisely is your system CD?

WINDOW XP PRO UPGRADE I was using WIN 2K PRO and upgraded from there.

If booting is a problem disconnect all hardware, except keyboard, mouse
and monitor, and then try to boot into safe mode.

No Booting problems, yet.

Thanks
