Re: Different Desktop Layouts for Different Resolutions - Possible?

I switch between a Sony 23" LCD monitor (1920x1200) and an LG 47" LCD HDTV
(1920x1080). Both are hooked up to an ATI X1950XT graphic card.

When I switch between the two LCDs, the XP SP2 rearranges desktop icons
due to the resolution difference.

Is there a way to save a layout for a different resolution?

Not the perfect answer to your question but ...

First, right click on the desktop and select 'Arrange Icons By >'. Ensure
that the 'Auto Arange' does not have a tick next to it (click it if it
does).

Now select the smaller of the two resolutions that you want and arange you
icons as required. On switching to the larger, the icons should maintain
their position relative to the top left corner. As long as you place icons
within the smaller screen area, they should not move when changing to the
lower resolution.
