Since the beginning of November, my system has gone into infinite 100% CPU
usage loops. The Process that is causing this unusual CPU usage is
"System"
(Not "System Idle Process").
This process is known for such behaviors when there are problems with
hardware/drivers, so I unplugged everything from my laptop and found it to
be
the battery - all works fine while the battery is unplugged.
HOWEVER, when I used the recovery disk to reinstall windows, it worked
just
fine till windows decided to update - a time at which the 100% CPU usage
returned.
I have done this 3 times now andeverytime it is the same: the entire
system
works perfectly upon reinstall, but as soon as I allow it to update, the
100%
CPU bug reappears (because I now beleive it to be some kind of ACPI
related
and windows update induced bug).
My question is if anyone else has been experiencing this kind of problem
on
their machines and if they have found any workaround (apart from not
allowing
windows to update) that solves it, since I am grasping at straws right
now...
You might try using Process Explorer to help determine what exactly is
running under "system" and consuming the cycles.
