RE: Volume Control mutes checkboxes when I try to unmute

Half of the problem is now solved...

The CD Audio is no longer muted. However, the Line-In and Microphone still
switch the checked box. Furthermore, I can only delete SB-Audigy, the others
don't respond to [DEL].

Click on 'Start', 'Uitvoeren', 'devmgmt.msc'[ENTER]
Click the + next to 'Besturing voor geluid, video en spelletjes'
Select each device by left-clicking on them once, hit [DEL]
Confirm removal, and after each is removed, Reboot.
Windows will re-detect each device and install it.
Test your setup again.

There are no logs or ini files to be tweaked for drivers, their settings
reside inside the Windows Registry hive, which is a dangerous place to
play around in if you don't know what exactly you're changing; an
incorrect value can cause your Windows installation to fail boot.

I can't find Uninstall nor do I know what devices to highlight. There
might be problems here because I have the Dutch version of Windows.

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight in turn, all sound
devices, Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the
device drivers again automatically.

It didn't work, thanks anyway. Any other suggestions to solve this
problem?

If you have the language bar running in the taskbar (properties,
toolbars, check it to show it) you may have the mic listening for
speech input. I suggest going to the "Regional and Language
settings" applet in control panel Language Tab, Details button,
Preferences, Language Bar button put a check in the box to "turn
off advanced text services" --

I have read the faqs, searched the internet but nothing really
works or is very clear.

I have a problem with my Volume Control (in Dutch Playback
Control) on my Windows XP Home. I don't know how it happenend
but this is the situation: There are 2 of these specific 3
boxes checked (muted): 'CD Audio', 'Microphone', 'Line-In'.
When I try to unmute, for example 'Line-In' or 'CD Audio'
whilst 'Microphone' is unmuted, 'Line-In' or 'CD Audio' becomes
unchecked (unmuted) BUT 'MICROPHONE' GETS CHECKED. 2 checked
boxes sort of skip between 'CD Audio', 'Microphone' and
'Line-In'.

How can I unmute (uncheck) all boxes?
