You can run the Recovery Console from the Microsoft Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD-ROM. For more information about how to create Startup disks for Windows XP (they are not included with Windows XP), visit the following link to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

After loading the Recovery Console, you use the BootCfg /rebuild command to regenerate the missing Boot.ini file. See the following article for more information.

Anyway we just moved & I can not find my originaL full version XP Pro cd to
attempt repairs. Having said that if I were to purchase an XP Pro upgrade,
would the program work or does it as to be original one? TiA.
