When i insert a new, blank DVD, i get a Windows dialog that asks what to
do, and i choose the option "open writeable CD folder using Windows
Explorer". And, a window opens with "D:\" as its address. Whenever i drag
ANY file to that Explorer window, i get an error alert with no usable
information. It says: "windows encountered a problem when trying to copy
this file, what do you want windows to do?". The choices are "retry" and
"cancel". Of course, "retry" only brings up the same dialog again, so
eventually, only thing to do is cancel. Of course i tried different blank
disks. The drive does work fine for reading commercial CDs (data or
music).
Any suggestions as to what to do next? None of the troubleshooting
articles give a clue as to what to do in this situation. Boo-hoo. Stuck;
dead in the water!
Thanks, tom
You will need 3rd party software. Xp doesn't support DVD's
.
