You are going to these sites to trust them to fix any virus you have. It
follows from that, that you can trust them not to give you a virus. You,
therefore, can afford to drop your security restrictions for running activeX
(for that site)
Add the site to your trusted zone, or if it is not an https: site, drop the
activeX security setting for the Internet Zone to none before going to the
site.
IE, Tools menu, Options, Security tab. Internet Zone icon, Custom Level
button.

Hi Experts;.
Running ActiveX programs like http://safety.live.com (OneCare Full Service
Scan) starts the scan for Viruses and Spyware, but only goes to about 6% and
the computer freezes. You can't move the mouse cursor or do a Ctl+Alt+Del.
The computer is completely locked up. I have tried other sites like
Trendmicro (Housecall) with similar results. The computer locks up. I have
tried the sfc /scannow, but this has NOT solved the problem.
Running Windows XP Home Edtion Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 CPU 2.26GHz, 768 MB
RAM, all Microsoft Updates have been done.
How can I solve this freezing problem. Your reply would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks....
