Hi Neil,
I think the programs your father installed had CDs or DVDs. If that is
the case, and you have a Windows Previous operating system CD, he can buy a
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 Upgrade CD at a store. Then what you
can do, is buy your Father a new Computer Case, a New Motherboard, which
comes with drivers and install. Steal the Hardware Hard Drives from the
Packard Case. Do, also install a new Hard Drive and slave the old Hard
Drive.
Unless he is working with Graphics or Recording TV Shows, keep the
partition size to under 40 GB in size. Too large a partition for the
operating system, slows up Windows Disk Cleanup.

Hi,
My father purchased a Packard Bell from PC world and has been told the
install discs to recover will cost £35 even though the OS was installed
when
purchased no discs were supplied. Now to rebuild theres a cost, if the pc
hardware changes in the future theres a cost. What genuine windows xp home
licensing options are avaliable to my father with the licensed software he
has installed to break the ties with a company that charges it customers
£10
to replace a driver.
The questions are can an OEM be installed or full license, there is a
considerable price difference.
Regards, Neil
.
