Hi,
My father purchased a Packard Bell from PC world and has been told the
install discs to recover will cost £35 even though the OS was installed
when
purchased no discs were supplied. Now to rebuild theres a cost, if the pc
hardware changes in the future theres a cost. What genuine windows xp home
licensing options are avaliable to my father with the licensed software he
has installed to break the ties with a company that charges it customers
£10
to replace a driver.
The questions are can an OEM be installed or full license, there is a
considerable price difference.
Regards, Neil
There should be a partition on the hard drive that contains the operating
system. It could be hidden. Go to,
http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?m=step2&i=menu_desktop
find the model he has and download the Recovery Boot Disk creator. That disk
should help you reinstall the operating system.
