Where did you get this information about wireless printing limits on Vista Basic?

Basic issue........

Go to the computer with the printer

Go to printer properties

Enable the printer to be shared

Then go to the laptop and install printer and use the browse for
network printer ..... that's it

This assumes your computer are both on the same IP family and share the
workgroup
