Gerry, I use Avast antivirus, Yahoo Anti-spy and my drive space on C: is
186GB. At the time, I had less than a GB left. I now have 29 gigs free due
to some deletions and moving to drive d:

What are your antivirus and anti-spyware arrangements?
How large is your hard disk and how much free disk space?

Hope this helps.

I have a file that is being added to the Desktop on every start.
Bioshoch.pdf. After several starts, I have several copies. I can
delete them all, inlcuding the original file, but the process
continues. Soon I again have multiple copies on the desktop.
I have XP x64 pro.
(Also, this may be going on elsewhere in the system, but not so
visible. I just ran out of disk space on drive C, when I was sure I
had a very comfortable margin just a week ago.)
