Re: Mapping Network Drive - Doesn't work after iTunes update

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

After updating iTunes to latest version 7.4.2, I can't access my
network drive to my file server with my music. I tried everything
from renewing ip to resharing drives but I can't seem to get my
laptop to see the mapped drive.

I get an error saying "The mapped network drive could not be created
because the following error has occurred: The network location
cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting,
see Windows Help.

But I can ping the file server with no errors and I can also VNC to
it and control remotely.

Anyone have any idea on how to get mapped drive to work again?

I have no idea how the two things could be related... But I would likely
first uninstall iTumnes completely to see if that remedies anything.

Windows XP what? Home, Pro, etc...?

If you reboot your laptop, open a command prompt and type in:
net use
Are there any network drives/shares listed? If so - deleted them.
Then type in:
net use x: \\ip.add.res.s\sharename\ /user:server_name\username_w_rights
(The point is to try and map the server by IP address and not server name.)
