Re: Unmountable_boot_volume

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

You should always post complete copies of Error Reports:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms797142.aspx

Try Peter's suggestion.

OK I am getting somewhere nut my PC knowledge is lacking.

The above can indicate:

A problem with a wire - I assume it is not this as I have made no
changes A BIOS setting problem - again I have made no change
Or file system damage - this looks most likely to me

Can anyone say?

The recomended fix for this is to run chkdsk/r but it advises a
chance of losing data.

What is the chance of losing data?
Is there any way to retrieve data before going down this route?

I have 3 months of non-backed up photo's which I would like to make
sure I keep

Thanks for your help
