Does anybody know how to stop windows XP Pro from shutting down (keystroke)
after the turnoff or restart button is clicked?
Once the shutdown process has been initiated, it can't be stopped.
However, it might be better for you to use the 'Welcome' screen, if you
have it turned off.
Click Start > Run
Type "control userpasswords" (without quotes)
Click "Change the way users log on or off"
Tick "Use welcome screen"
With the Welcome screen on, you get a much simpler shutdown dialog.
