If your Gateway was supplied with Vista, you first need to Visit Gateway
site, the section specific to your model and asertain as to whether there
are WinXp drivers available for your laptop. If WinXp is not supported, dont
bother installing it you'll end up with grief.
Installing Winxp will probably invalidate your warranty / support with
Gateway.
Your problem is likely something to do with the drive being a sata drive.

I want to install XP Pro on my Gateway laptop which currently has Vista
Premium.
When I boot with the XP cd I get to the stage where I opt to install XP.
An
error message appears 'No Hard Drive found'.
The laptop has a 120Gb hard drive.
Any ideas?
