Internet Connection Stops after a Few Days

I have a computer running XP that runs 24 hours a day. It transmits
weather data two a server every 2 seconds.

Anyway, after 2-3 days of continuous running the internet connection
stops working. Nothing will connect, not Internet Explorer, not my
mail programs, nada until a reboot.

What can be causing this?
