I don't think it is responsible or considerate for MIcrosoft to deprive its
users of an importan tool which is of burning and viewing burned data on
CDs. Many have made backups of their systems on CD-Rs but will be surprised
when they pop that CD and find NOTHING after they install SP2. Also we are
surprised when we want to burn a cd and find that now it is impossible. The
CD drive works in all other respects.
I am using a Sony Vaio PCG-NV170, XP Professional SP2, DVD/CD-RW Drive

Microsoft does not put much effort in CD-R writing utilities because
there are many, many programs already on the market. When you buy a
new CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-RW drive they usually come with software to wright
to CD/DVD.
Both my the DVD-RW DL Recorders came with NERO, but I don't like it,
much too bloated and very hard to uninstall. I use another program to
wright to CD.
