I dont use NTbackup but a third party tool Acronis True Image, so I couldnt
tell you, but I believe the floppy is required in order for you to recover.
PS MS has got much flack over the years for providing 'utilities' within the
o/s, so perhaps they didnt feel inclined to produce a more comprehensive
backup utility.

Since the file was created, would I be able to use my original
recovery/restore CD's I made when I first purchased the computer with this
file to get evrything back?

Is there anyway to use something other than a floppy disk, like a USB
memory
flash stick, when using the backup program found under system tools. It
lets
you backup where you want, however, at the end of the backup I get an
error
since I do not have a floppy drive on my computer. Who does these days?
In
the wizard it says you will need a floppy disk to store system recovery
information. Then on the last screen of the wizrd before the vackup
begins
it
says, "After the wizard creates a backup of yourfiles, you will then be
asked
to insert a floppy disk. You will use this disk and the backup to
restore
your system in the event of a major failure."
I am running Windows XP Pro - SP2.
