My XP autoupdater wants to install service pack 3, which I also
want to do. During the installation process, it calls for the
original XP installation disk, which I don't have because the XP
was factory installed. I also have no idea where the recovery disk
is that came with the computer, as I've had this laptop over a year.
How do I override the demand for the original XP OS disk? I do
want to install the Service Pack 3 to be up to date.
Please do not multipost. If you feel your topic is relevant to more than
one newsgroup - crosspost instead. It benefits those who read/reply as well
as you to do this.
It's unlikely it is demanding the XP Operating System Disk and more likely
it is asking for the Office XP installation media - as there is not SP3 for
Windows XP at this date/time.
