Hi
I am trying to help a friend. He was having problems with RAM and decided
to go to task manager and quit a few programs. Well, he ended
explorer.exe
tree and now he cannot boot. All he gets is the wallpaper...no bars no
icons
no nothing. Not even a right click. he can't do a CTRL+ESC to get to
programs either. The only thing that he can get to work is task
manager...
but I don't know how to help him from that point. We did go to windows
with
command prompt... and it shows explorer.exe in the directory. Is there a
way to access system restore so he could go back a day?
any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks
Tell your friend to hit ctrl, alt, delete to open up the task manager again.
On the toolbar, click on file and then on new task. Type in explorer.exe and
click on ok. That should bring his desktop back.
