You won't be able to run that command in the Recovery Console.

here's the command that it is acking me to use...
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose

Now, how do I change this command to work on the setup I am using.

I am currently using a dual bott config. I want to fix the other boot
drives properties, it is on F drive right now. I'm not sure how to format the
command to work on my system...

Having seen a SP2 remove command work like this, I think you should give
this a try.

When it starts I get to the same screen. It's the same screen as I get when i
normally boot. The screen is light blue in the center with dark blue bands on
the top and bottom, and it has the Windows Xp logo in the center. Then the PC

Since windows has not yet successfully restarted (no welcome screen) you
might use "Last Known Good Configuration" on the boot menu (F8 on restart.)
If no help, you can try booting to Safe Mode With Command Prompt to use the
restore feature.

I use the sata raid to boot for the last 2 years without issue. I had put
off updating to SP2 for a while. I tried to update it several times since
September with no luck, but I didn't really try to "fix" it until last night.
I read the log files of the update and found a reg key that it could change
because its permissions were set wrong. So I changed it. Re-did the update,
and it failed again, but for a different key. I changed that one, and again
another failure. Here's where I messed up.... I didn't want to spend days
trying to update after each key change so I changed the permissions for
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and then sent those permissions to all child keys. Now
when I boot it gets to the screen right before the user names appear and I
can do nothing but hit the reset on the tower.... I have a restore point for
5 hours before I did the change, is it possible to restore to that point
using the recovery console? Or can I edit the registry for that installation
from this OS ? Any help is appreciated...
