additional info:
Computer #1 (trying to share printer) is in a workgroup: MSHOME
Computer #2 (trying to access printer) in a member of my work's
domain. BUT: for what it's worth when I log on it at home I log on
as the local Administrator
So we're on the same page.
The printer is connected to the XP Pro machine in your home LAN.
LAN is a workgroup (MSHome).
File and Print Sharing is installed in Network Properties.
F&P is enabled in the firewall settings.
Simple file sharing is disabled.
Printer Properties has Sharing tab but no Security tab.
Printer is Shared in Properties > Sharing tab.
**Note: If a reboot doesn't help to get the Security tab, boot to Safe Mode as the Administrator and the Security tab should be available.
Work computer will not install/add drivers/printer in Printers and Faxes.
Work computer is in a Domain.
Are you trying to access using a UNC or URL?
Home and Work firewalls are configured to allow F&P Sharing?
Home and Work firewalls are configured to allow IP's as trusted from each network?
