Re: Missing Security Tab - can't map shared printer in home network

I'm running XP Pro SP2 and I'm trying to share my printer on my home
network. When I try to add the printer from another computer running
XP SP2 I'm asked to log in as:
Username: <computer #1>\Guest (this entry is greyed out - I have to
access the printer using this account)
Password: (fill in password here)

I've tried changing the password to something simple on computer #1
and filling in that password, but get the error "Windows could not
complete that operation".

As I can't see the Security Tab I can't set access to "Everyone".
Furthermore - when I try to access the printer via mapping it from
another computer

1) I've disabled "Use simple file sharing" - but still no Security
Tab on my shared printer.

2) I've opened gpedit.msc - navigated to \\Computer Configuration
\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer to look
for the "Hide Security Tab" to Disable this (per other posts) - I
can't find that entry.

3) I've opened the registry and gone to:
\\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
\\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer

In both folders I looked for the "NoSecurityTab" DWORD to see if it
was set to 1. Neither entry existed - so I created that entry in both
folders and set it to 0.

Still can't find the security tab.

Any help/advice would be appreciated - thanks

Have you tried "Disabling" the Guest account?
