I am planning to buy a new PC with Windows XP, Home or PRO, or Vista Home
Premium installed and I would like to install my existing copy of Windows
98SE on it with a Dual Boot option at startup.
I need 98SE's option to run a few DOS-based programs like AutoCAD v11 which
cost me $2500 back in 1993 and still works perfectly.
Instead of running DOS window from 98SE, when I boot or reboot, I press F8,
enter the Startup Menu, choose DOS PROMPT. From there I have a batch
program that modifies MSDOS.SYS so it does not load Windows upon restart and
the same batch program modifies the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to load the AutoCAD
program upon restart.
What you want to do is possible, but a better solution may be to load 98 into
a Virtual PC, and then load AutoCAD in the virtual 98 installation.

Here are a list of the system requirements. Take note of the host OS
requirement as VPC isn't supported on some versions XP or Vista.
