Following some serious problems with my computer I decided
to
re-load
Windows XP Professional from the Recovery Disc provided by
the
manufacturer-Dell. Before doing this I made a full backup
of
all my
folders, files and settings onto a second internal hard
drive. I then
reformatted my main hard drive and reinstalled Windows.
Everything
now runs like a dream except that I cannot recover my files
from the
backup. All the folders move across from one drive to the
other but
none of the files in the folders appears to move with them.
I
cannot
open the folders-I get an access denied message and I
cannot
delete
any of these folders from my drive-again I get an access
denied
message. Can anyone out there help?

You may be able to recover your old files by disabling
Simple
File Sharing and taking ownership of the files. Take a look
at
