Re: missing hard drive.. help!!

Right click it in Disk management and select Change Drive Letter and Path
and assign it the Drive Letter G if you have just Two Partitions on the
Primary HDD (C,D), then right click it again and select Format.

ok, firstly, i think i understand what you mean, i wll check in the bios
first, shall i hold down the a key while it is loading up, (i do know what
the bios page lookslike :)) secondly, the rive that isnt showing is a second
one put in a while back, the main one is a split drive and is showing up as c
& d, if it is showing in the bios what then?

i am presuming that the issue you
have is regarding 2 physical harddrives
but one is not showing up.

the cmos/bios is the
place that see's all the
hardware for the operating
system.

to access the cmos you
need to press and hold
a key down then power
up the pc.

depending on the motherboard
the key to press could be the
del key or maybe the f10 key.

the pc manual or the website
to your motherboard can provide
the exact key to press.

once inside the cmos menu
check around for a list that
shows the hard disks.

harddisk 0 will be your main
boot harddrive. and harddisk
1 will be the secondary disk.

if only one disk appears in
the listing but you know there should
be a second harddrive, then this
is the clue you need to begin
resolving the problem.

however, if i mis interpreted
your posting and you are talking
about one harddrive that is subdivided
into seperate partitions, then the cmos
is not what you need to check about
an unseen partition.
