Re: monitor shuts down

none of those helped. Mine shuts down after running something that 3d.
Screensavers, games. It is fine as I'm using it for the internet and email
and stuff like that. When I had the resolution set to 1024x768 or higher is
when I noticed my FPS not so high. I have updated the monitor too. I
didn't have the problem when I had the lower watt power supply (350) only
that it would shut everything off once in a while, but then it wouldn't even
start the pc so that's when I decided to get a higher watt power supply. I
have 2 good exhaust fans inside the case too and blow off the fans about
every month, in fact I just did it the other day. Right now I have the
screensaver at 800x600 resolution and my FPS are in the 20's and low 30's
and it hasn't shut the monitor off yet, and I leave it one all night long.
My desktop is at 1280x960 and no problems with a 75Hz refresh rate. I have
72 refresh rate for the 3d. I haven't tried my games so far with this
setting just the screensaver and it seems to work well.

Debbie, what about the monitor driver, have you also updated it?.. check
the
following pages; the causes for LCD monitor shut-downs range from internal
deffects to video card & monitor drivers, to defective internal power
supply, and other possible causes, so the best I can do is provide the
links
so you can try to figure out what the actual cause is.

I installed the free Everest program and the only thing I can find is
this
(Problem At least 85 Hz vertical refresh rate is recommended for classic
(CRT) displays). I h ave a LCD 17 inch monitor not a CRT. I also have a
Thermaltake 430 watt power supply which I just bought a few months ago.
I
have a ATI RADEON X600/X550 Series x86/SSE2 graphics card with the
latest
update.
