BTW, I tried going into Safe Mode to attempt finding the problem via the
Hidden Administrator acct, but all I get are IE Script Errors. The hidden
admin acct (in Safe Mode) will not access user accts, but my acct will.

It's probably something in the Default User profile, (which the limited user.
gets on creation or demotion) It's possible this could help that.

Have done both. Ensured that (Outlook 2003) is my default e-mail program yet
access is provided for Outlook Express. Toggled several times with no
success. Mail client message continues for both limited users.
I've also uninstalled Flash, using the uninstall package found at adobe.com,
and reinstalled the plugin. I checked (in Add/Remove programs) that Flash
was installed. I also checked in Manage Add-Ins to see that it has been
enabled.
I did notice that that the only Flash listed in Manage Add-Ins is Shockwave
Flash.
I did want to thank you for all your efforts thus far. Still looking for
the "magic bullet" to resolve these problems.

The easy way to rebuild the mailto would be the "Set Program Access and
Defaults" app. See start/all programs/ (at the top) They would toggle off and
on the mail choice.
Somehow, the flash install is not getting 'system' permissions. The flash
install usually does that. Uninstalling, and reinstalling flash may work, or
having the user try the "Manage Add-ins" in IE.

Just to ensure I understood the process, I checked my own profile and it
matched what you suggested exactly.
However, when checking both limited users, I noted that URL: MailTo Protocol
is missing from the file types list. Further, when viewing the entire list
(after clicking Advanced, then New), URL: MailTo Protocol is missing from
that list.
Regarding the web page corruption comment I made, I suspect that the site
makes use of Flash plugins. That's the reason for my first posting.
I hope this helps!

The mailto protocol is easy enought to check into. I'm not sure what to think
of a corrupt read of an html page. Isolated to one set of users implies it's
some permissions error.
In My Computer,Tools menu, Folder Options. File Types tab. In list of file
types, click (URL:Mailto Protocol) Click Advanced. In Actions, click Open.
Edit
In "Application used to perform action" enter the program to use to open
files that have this extension, then click OK. In MY case it is:-including
quotes- "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /mailurl:%1

Third party browser extensions have been checked for both users.
To be helpful, here are more symptoms:
For one user, her home page shows corruption, though I know the page is
viable (I verified this on my acct and the other user's acct).
For the same user, click on an email link on any web site results in mutiple
windows opening automatically and email client error message being displayed.
Thx!

The limited user may need to put a check in the box for 'use third party
browser extensions', at IE, tools menu, options, advanced tab. There is also
a "Managed Add-ins" item on the tools menu.

I'm the Admin person for our home network with two additional, limited users.
I'm running XP HOme and IE6 on my desktop and XP Home and IE7 on a laptop.
On my desktop, I, as admin, can utilize Flash plugins. However, neither of
the limited users can. I receive no error messages, Flash simply fails to
function.
My laptop is a different story, however. We an all login normally and
utilize all plugins without problems.
Any ideas?
Thx!
