IE Error Messages

I have Internet Explorer 6 because I can not get to my email messages in
email.com using version 7 with AT&T Yahoo. However, every time I exit
out of IE 6, I receive the following message:

iexpore.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x02fd2bf2" referenced memory at "0x030c6ac8". The
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program

I never use to get this message, so something has happened within the
past month. I have Windows XP and I have a Dell Computer which I
purchased a year a go. I was going to reinstall Internet Explorer 6
but I can not locate a copy of it. Everytime I search for it all I find
is IE 7. Also, I get a message that says an error has occurred in the
script on the page.
