Re: Help and Support Updates?

And what is that supposed to mean?

It would appear to some of the responders have their heads so far up their
arse that they feel that it would be beneath them to dignify a query -

Please advise how and where I can get updates for XP Home edition 'Help
and
Support' . I have found one article on 'safe mode' to be nonsense when
compared to the same article as described on the MS web site. Please the
examples below.

Article on safe mode found in 'Help and Support' on my PC:

"To start the computer in safe mode

1.. You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not
be available after you shut your computer down in step 2.
2.. Click Start, click Shut Down, and then, in the drop-down list, click
Shut down.
3.. In the Shut Down Windows dialogue box, click Restart, and then click
OK.
4.. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start,
press F8.
5.. Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate option, and then
press
ENTER.
If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation
that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER."

4.As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating
systems,
you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.

5. Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and
then press ENTER.

6.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation
that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.
