if you change the year to 2007 and hit apply it goes right back to
1970.

I have repllaced the CMOS battery and made sure the date in the BIOS is
correct.

still the windows date is at 1970.

what can i do to fix this?

Might be a silly question because you're asking in a XP group but are you
using XP on your workstation? I ask because some older Mac workstations
had
this problem when they were upgraded to newer operating systems.
