I had this computer built at a computer store i did not get a disc or
jewel
case with the key numbers on it but this is my third upgrade from that
store
and moved 300 miles away from there. so how can i validate this thing
without
buying xp again it cost too much to have to buy it twice????? i refuse to
do
that!!!
The status, "Blocked VLK "(Volume license key), indicates that your vendor's
key has been invalidated, probably because they violated the terms of their
license and were caught at it. Your XP is an OEM version and your only
recourse is through the dealer who sold you the XP in the first place. You
need to start by contacting the vendor and explaining the issue. It is their
responsibility to rectify the situation, either by settling with Microsoft
so your current XP validates, or by providing you with XP and a valid key.
If they refuse to do so, you need to investigate your legal options,
presuming you have a detailed invoice for the computer which specifically
lists XP as part of the sale.
