spyware terminator w/clam a.v.
has been pretty good against
spyware and popups. This is
memory resident.

spybot is highly recommended
and suggested frequently online.
This runs as needed.

The only thing that i can think
of that IE does is antiphising/
website checking. But netscape
does this too.

i'm not sure what you mean
by online scanner, but if
your speaking of the updates
site, i thought the o.s.
could download updates automatically
and without accessing the webpage.
