look for a freeware called
wga removal tool an use it
then
run services.msc and make
sure your bits and autoupdate
service are enabled.
then
reboot and try to update
again. if still can't update,
then
look for the technical support
link at microsoft.com's update
site to open and submit a service
ticket
and
you will get free technical
help from a certified microsoft
technician.....
then let us know what got fixed
afterwards...

Now why does XP Lock up everytime I try to download the "recommended
updates"? I just reformatted this system 3 days ago. And I was able to get
the first few updates, but since then I've been stuck. Any ideas?
