based on my success with
recovery, i suggest the following
freewares:
BartsPE (or) Ultimate Boot CD
&
DriveImageXML
&
DriveImageXML plugin (for a PE above)
in addition, if you only have WinXP home
version I should buy a software like
Acronis Disk Director
Further, you should make an Emergency
Boot Disks from your current system
and make sure they have
FixMbr, FixBoot, NTDetect and NTDLR
there's too much content
to go over the above over emails.
however, I think the above is good
start and you'll be able
to figure them out after some time
and research.

i was wondering wich software i have to use to make a good backup of my hd.
It's not only for the files but also for the os, so that when the system
fails i can put all things back excact as it was.
This includes files folders and everything else.
Thanx
