Spaceman , you will not believe this but , I know longer have the
Windows Media Format 11 Runtime , it is gone , disappeared
The WMP11 file size is now 3.75 mb , but when I try to download WMP 10 I
still get the message
the current version of windows media (10) technologies is incompatible
w/ the version of windows (xp)"*
I have run CCleaner , also , I have tested 7 Registry Cleaner programs
and every one is different.I mean between 5118 error to as low as 297

Hi there
I am sorry but from here I don't think I can help you. Deleting the
registry links may help you some what and deleting the entry in
add/remove may also help you. But here is the big but, I am not sure
wethear this would allow you to install WMP 10 because ther may be some
file elsewhere that are causing the problem. However as long as you
backup what you do I would see no harm in deleting the registry for
WMP11.
After looking at the link from Brian G, maybe just maybe Windows Media
Format 11 Runtime may be the problem as you said "Tried all that , when
I tried to download WMP 10 this is the message i
received when I
download 10 received the following
*message:
"the current version of windows media (10) technologies is incompatible
w/
the version of windows (xp)"*
does any one have any ideas on how to fall back to 10
Bob"
This may be that current version which Windows Media 10 doesnt like.
Have you unistalled this. Although I have only just discovered this, so
I give no garantee it won't just cause more problems, but see no reason
why it should be a problem
Futher more I never said go into add/remove, I was talking about
CCleaner, and deleting that entry in add/remove
http://www.ccleaner.com/ (there are several other programs that do the
same job)
Until I have more information. I am of no further assistance too you
If you find the cause of the problem please let me know?
