Re: Network sharing and Security

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Okie. Did you enable the "Make this folder private" option sometime earlier, for the folders within your user profile? If so, undo that setting:

How to undo "Make this folder private" option ?:

Also, after turning Simple File Sharing off and sharing the folder, is the share appearing when you:

1. Open fsmgmt.msc (type in Start, Run) MMC?
2. Browse the computer using UNC path, from another system?

I Just notice somthing... when you go to (C:\Documents and Settings) you
find there (All users) and (Default User) which is hidden and finally my

So when i go to the desktop or what ever which in (All Users) i can creat a
folder and the (Sharing this folder on the network) is NOT dimmed and i can
shared it and i can see this folder through the netwrok... but when i go to
the desktop or what ever folder which in (My name) i can not share any
folder there and the (Sharing this folder on the network) is STILL dimmed
