I just installed Windows XP on a new core 2 duo system. Everything
appears to run fine, however, after the system has been running for
about 30 minitues, it begins to slow down dramatically. When I look
in the task manager, I see an image named 'System' with user name
'SYSTEM' and it is taking 50% of total resources. When I switch to
the performace tab, one of the cpu's is completely maxed out. It
remains this way (even for hours) unitl I reboot the machine. Once in
this state, I am not able to access system information.
