There is difference between display driver and monitor driver.
Try starting in safe mode..F8 during boot.This should load generic display
drivers.
Then go to Device Manager and "rollback" your display drivers unless you
have uninstalled them completely at which point you will have to reinstall
the display drivers.
Monitor drivers are just .inf files that tell XP what your monitor is
capable of displaying.

Long story short:
I diabled my display driver. Tried to do a nondestructive reinstall of
windows xp. The computer will not complete the setup; the part where you
enter you the product key never comes up.
