Hoped this would work but I bombed out. On.....
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\ {Windows\Control Panel\Desktop}
Mine goes only to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\ {System certificates}
I can't find any program that indicates it is a screen saver even doing a search on "C". It must be there because under desktop, properties, I can view, adjust and see a demo of it. What name does it go by under the standard xp pro? If I can't find it, I can't verify it is under system32
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop gives me several entries of screen saver
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Scrnsave.exe = C:\Windows\System32\logon.scr......I did change to logon.scr. It had something else.

It shows under "properties" and I can even re-click "apply" but no matter how much lag time I give it, it won't come on
It and the following question I have in a different post occurred about the same time. It is as follows.............
Anyone having trouble with the recent updates?
I have noticed that I can be typing along and all the sudden I'm typing blanks. Just happened recently. The other day, I backed up with system recall a week wondering if I picked up something that my anti-vir couldn't find. The problem seemed to go away.
Last evening I let it re-download the same couple updates and the problem re-appeared. I backed it up clear to Jan 1 and again, it seems to be OK. I see it is wanting to download them again. Don't think so.
